Overview

The HDS2102A provides comprehensive waveform-based automotive diagnostics in a portable handheld format. Its 2-channel oscilloscope offers 100 MHz bandwidth, 500 MSa/s sampling, 8k record length, and 8-bit vertical resolution for capturing automotive electrical signals. The integrated 20,000-count multimeter supports voltage, current, resistance, capacitance, diode, and continuity measurements. A built-in automotive waveform library enables technicians to compare measured signals with reference waveforms during troubleshooting. Vehicle diagnostic functions cover independent and distributorless ignition systems, accelerator pedal and engine sensors, ABS, crankshaft and camshaft sensors, lambda and MAP sensors, throttle position, knock and coolant temperature sensors, as well as FlexRay, K-Line, LIN, and CAN physical-layer testing. Additional functions support injector diagnosis, glow plug testing, fuel pump current, alternator ripple, charging circuits, parasitic drain current, and relative cylinder compression testing.
