The HPC79A combines process signal generation and precision measurement in a single instrument. Its output functions include DC voltage, DC current, resistance, frequency, thermocouple, and RTD signals, with a SIMULATE function for emulating transmitters. The DC current output provides simultaneous mA and percentage readings and supports manual stepping, automatic stepping, and automatic ramp output. A built-in 24V loop power supply allows the instrument to power a loop while measuring its current, while an optional 250Ω HART loop resistor simplifies connection to HART communication devices. As a measurement instrument, the HPC79A supports AC/DC voltage and current, resistance, capacitance, frequency, thermocouple, RTD, diode, and continuity testing. It also provides True RMS measurement, VFC filtering, relative measurement, automatic cold-junction compensation, and fast or slow measurement modes. With IP65 protection and CAT IV 600V/CAT III 1000V safety ratings, it is suitable for industrial process calibration, field instrumentation, maintenance, and troubleshooting applications.
